By EARL MORGAN JOURNAL STAFF WRITER A 13-year-old student at School 41 in Jersey City showed up at school yesterday with a loaded gun, officials said. The student, who lives on Clerk Street, was arrested when a security guard noticed a bulge in his pants pocket and took him to the principal's office, where Officer James Wyatt, who is stationed at the school, searched him and found an Omega .22 caliber six-shot revolver, police said. According to the police, the boy, who is being taught via home instruction, was at the school yesterday to take a state test. Police could not say how long he'd been out of class or why he was on home instruction, but such a move is usually reserved for students who are injured or have extreme disciplinary issues. The 13-year-old entered School 41, located on Wilkinson and Ocean avenues, at approximately 11 a.m. to take the New Jersey ASK test, which is required of all third-, sixth-and eighth-graders. It could not be determined what grade the student was in and school officials could not be reached for comment last night. The boy was taken to the police Juvenile Division, where he was charged with possession of a weapon, police said. He was later transported to the Hudson County Youth House in Secaucus, where he is being detained pending an arraignment today in Hudson County Family Court, police said.
