Homeless organizations in Hudson County will receive more than $4.5 million in Continuum in Care care grants, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development announced.
Continuum in Care grants provide permanent and transitional housing to homeless persons. In addition, Continuum grants fund important services including job training, health care, mental health counseling, substance abuse treatment and child care.
Nine organizations in the county, including WomenRising, the Jersey City Episcopal Community Development Corp. and Saint Joseph's Home, will share in $4.1 million. Bayonne, Jersey City and the county will receive emergency shelter grants. This past year county organizations received $5 million in CIC grants.
