When I had my permit I used
City Line Driving School 101 Culver Avenue Jersey City, New Jersey 07305 Phone: 201-434-7691 They taught me everything I needed to know about driving in 3 1hr classes. Hope it helps

Depends how old he is. See:
http://www.state.nj.us/mvc/Licenses/FirstTime.htm It takes longer now than when I got my license back in 1989; they mandate that new drivers have X# months of supervised driving w/ permit before they can go in for their road test, and then on top of that, you don't get an official license, just a provisional one, until another x# of months of clean driving record.

my nephew needs a recommendation for a driving instructor. has his permit. anyone know how long it takes start-finish to get a license in jc these days?
