DMR Architects & Jersey city renovate Urban Center

DMR Architects has been commissioned by The City of Jersey City to renovate some of the town?s existing storefronts in an effort to help revitalize the city?s urban center.
The city was looking for a design that offered flexibility, color and a standardized signage program that will help aid the fragmented streetscape.
?This is an exciting project for DMR?, said Lloyd Rosenberg, president, CEO and founder of DMR Architects. ?Cityscapes are a challenge, which the firm particularly enjoys as it allows to help accentuate a city?s personality and Jersey City is one that is invigorating.?
Improvements to the storefront fa?ades include the use of exposed metal trusses, bold signage, murals and accent lighting. The project is expected to assist in improving the local nightlife and shopping by inviting establishments and national retail chains into the underutilized community after the revitalization efforts are completed.
The fit-out will allow for minimal street disruption during installation so as not to disrupt local residents.
