View Larger Map Bayonne woman, 18, charged as accomplice to violent robbery of Jersey City boy, 14, in Heights Tuesday, November 30, 2010 An 18-year-old Bayonne resident was arrested Saturday evening as an accomplice to the violent robbery of a 14-year-old boy in Jersey City, police reports said. Jersey City police arrested Lateshia L. Jones, 18, of Fifth Street in Bayonne, on an open warrant from Hudson County and charged her with bail jumping and robbery, reports said. Police were called to St. Paul's and Oakland avenues at around 6 p.m. and met a Hancock Avenue resident with his 14-year-old son, whose right eye was bruised and swollen shut, reports said. The boy said he had arranged to meet a friend at School 6's basketball court, police said. When he put his bicycle down, a man grabbed the bike and when the victim tried to get the bike back, the robber punched him in the face before fleeing with Jones, reports said. The victim called his parents, and his dad spotted the two suspects, police said. The suspects dropped the bike and fled when the father approached them. Police scoured the area and found Jones, who had a warrant out of Hudson County, reports said. The principal suspect was not caught. CHARLES HACK
