Thats seems to be a better way to stop the smoking than changing the pics on the cigarette packs!

Three victims pistol-whipped and robbed in Jersey City, reports say

Published: Sunday, November 14, 2010, 4:37 PM
Charles Hack/The Jersey Journal

Three men were pistol-whipped and robbed while having a smoke outside a Jersey City house party Saturday night, police reports said.

Three Jersey city residents, ages 18, 21, and 24, told police who were called to the scene of a reported robbery on Bostwick Avenue near Martin Luther King Drive 11:47 p.m., that two men robbed them at gunpoint, reports said.

The victims said they were smoking cigarettes outside a party on Bostwick Avenue when two men approached them, reports said.

While one of the men pointed a silver semi-automatic handgun at them, the other man who was also armed, demanded money and robbed them, reports said.

Wallets containing a total of $55 were lifted from the 21-year-old and 24-year-old victims, reports said. A cell phone was also taken from the 21-year-old, reports said.
The 18-year-old victim was searched by the robber but they didn't take anything, reports said.

The three victims said they were bashed on their heads by one of the armed robbers, reports said.

The robbers fled in a black SUV driven by a third suspect the victims told police.

Jersey City man says he was shot, but he was really cut, reports say

An 18-year-old man bleeding heavily from his left ear lied to Jersey City police earlier today when he said he had been shot at a party, reports said.

When cops interviewed the man at his Lembeck Avenue home at 2:54 a.m. they realized he had been cut by a sharp object, reports said.

When cops challenged the man's initial story -- that he had been shot at a house party near Bayview and Ocean avenues -- the man changed his story again and then became belligerent and uncooperative, reports said.
