View Larger Map Man knifed in fight in Marion Monday, September 14, 2009 A Jersey City man with a knife stuck in his rib cage approached police officers responding to a large fight in the Marion Section yesterday morning, officials said. At 12:35 a.m. police arrived at the Marion Gardens housing complex and a large group of brawlers, including some armed with baseball bats, took off running in different directions, police said. That's when the 31-year-old Monticello Avenue man who was bleeding heavily, approached the officer with a knife sticking out of the left side of his chest, officials said. He told police he got into an argument with another man and when it became physical the man picked up a knife and stabbed him, police said. The victim was rushed to the Jersey City Medical Center by ambulance and into emergency surgery, police said. Doctors told police he was seriously injured but the wound was not life threatening.
