As a non-student, if you show a library card to any area library, the security guards will let you in. Otherwise, you have to show a driver's license to get in. The security guards are pretty diligent. It's a nice little spot to take a quick coffee break - the lines can sometimes get long between classes.

Thanks for the info.

There is a Starbucks in the HCCC building, I think it is open to the public.

"Some of the amenities of the library includes 33 new classrooms, including nine computer labs, three tiered lecture halls and 21 faculty offices. Other features include a two-story lobby, a Starbucks, a gallery space, a 9/11 memorial, and a rooftop terrace overlooking the Jersey City and Manhattan skylines.

Housed on the first two floors of the facility, the library contains 40,000 books, 1,100 DVDs, and 3,000 e-books accessible to all HCCC students. The library also offers textbook and laptop rentals and private study areas.

"I think the new library provides great opportunities for students," said Fernando Sanchez, an engineering student from Union City. "It was very difficult to accommodate a lot of students in the old library, but now that we have this state-of-the-art library, more students have the opportunity to get their studying done."

The new library will also help accommodate the growing enrollment at HCCC, which saw an increase to 9,000 for-credit and 4,000 not-for-credit students this fall, Gabert said.

The library will be open to the public from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday. It will be open from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Saturdays and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays. Anybody with a New Jersey ID can use the library, but only students and faculty will be able to use the check-out system.

Will Starbucks ever open a location in Journal Square? With all the development and gentrification it seems like they are ready for a caf?.

Any rumors on that?

Any good places in JSQ for coffee??
