I keep reading "horrible landlord" posts. I would love to read some "horrible tenant" stories. I'm sure that for every one horrible landlord, a landlord can relate at least 10 horrible tenant stories. I had one tenant who swore on a stack of bibles that he quit smoking. When he moved out 3 years later, the walls, windows and floors were so covered with nicotine stains that you literally stuck to whatever you walked on/touched. You actually could not see through the windows. It cost $2,500 and six weeks of clean-up/ priming/ painting and sanding to return the apartment into a rentable condition. The security deposit didn't even cover 1/4 of the needed work. Anyone else?
