JCMC's BAD NEWS REPORT CARD
Saturday, September 23, 2006

In the state report card released this week on how hospitals perform when it comes to treating heart attack, pneumonia and heart failure patients, the Jersey City Medical Center in Jersey City, LibertyHealth's flagship hospital, ranked below 50 percent of the state's hospitals in each of the three categories.

Greenville Hospital in Jersey City and the Meadowlands Hospital Medical Center in Secaucus - LibertyHealth's two other Hudson County hospitals - fared better in the survey.

Greenville Hospital ranked above the 50 percent mark in treating heart attack and heart failure patients, but below 50 percent of the state's hospitals when it came to treating pneumonia patients.

Meadowlands Medical Center ranked above the 50 percent level in the heart failure category, but below that mark in treating heart attack and pneumonia patients.
