Sendoff for Earl Morgan, Ron Leir and Angela Daidone
Elected officials, law enforcement, community leaders and Jersey Journal readers are invited to say good-bye to longtime Jersey Journal writers Ron Leir and Earl Morgan at a get together at O'Hara's Downtown pub in Jersey City Friday.
Morgan and Leir, who left the Jersey Journal during recent cutbacks, have nearly 70 years experience between them in reporting on Hudson County for the newspaper.
"We hope those who interacted over the years with Ron and Earl will stop by to say hello and wish them luck as they begin new chapters in their lives," said Hudson County Newspaper Guild Secretary Michaelangelo Conte.
Coaches and those involved in sports across Hudson County are invited to attend to see off former Jersey Journal Sports Editor Angela Daidone, who also left the newspaper recently. Many current Jersey Journal writers are expected to attend, as may others who left the newspaper due to the downsizing.
The event will begin at 7 p.m. at O'Hara's Downtown pub, which is located at 172 First Street. There will be a normal cash bar.
