Spoke too fast - now that he has worked on it a little more, it no longer evokes a sense of violence. When I first saw it yesterday, it only had the red top streak, and thus resembled a blood streaked blown off head.

Now, I see it does have a positive message.

I haven't seen this one yet, but I do think that the mural that was painted on the now vacant party supply store DT is pretty depressing. Not the execution, but the subject. It's just a stark, cold cityscape. I get the idea of the blossoms and rebirth but the apocalyptic emptiness is a downer to look at every morning.

I had high hopes for this mural - loved the idea of a mural to improve the appearance of the garage.

At first, I thought it was interesting, similar to Gilbert and George paintings.

Now that the color is applied, I am not sure I like the violent nature of the mural, given that's all we read in the papers these days, and we certainly need less violence in JC. I would have been happier if it were a more uplifting or positive mural for Jersey City.

I wonder if the Silvermans actually approved this?

Maybe it's not done yet and I have spoken too early.

What do you guys think?

I don't think it's so much violent as it is surreal. But yea, I was wondering myself if it's still incomplete cause as of now it just looks blah and kinda drab to me.
