Try Studio 17 - not sure what their prices are for just the blow out, but cut and blowdry/style is $40.

I'd say just about anyone at Salon X. Cha Cha is great, and I got the best blowout ever from the woman who's station is closest to the window. should've written down her name. was more than $20, though, but lasted for days and days.

avoid Balance at all costs. you'll walk out with a headful of frizz, and an earful of attitude if you dare to complain about spending $40 for what can only be described as a desultory blow-dry, not a professional blow-out.

Rita at Tousled on Jersey does an excellent, long lasting blowout with Aveda products, but I think it will set you back $40. She really styles well though, so you end up with red carpet premiere hair, instead of the greasy, stick-straight do you can get at cheaper places. If you're due for a trim anyway, you should make an appointment there. She's an expert stylist and haircuts are just $50, with the shampoo/conditioner/blowdry included.

Don't know what else is available Downtown, but most every salon uptown will do a blowout in the $20-$30 range, if you don't mind traveling.

Can anyone recommend a salon downtown for an inexpensive but decent blow out? Ideally I'd like to pay around $20, but I don't know if that's realistic. I'd also be interested in cheap but good places for an updo. Thanks!
