I had high expectations for this morning's sunrise, but to be honest, I was disappointed. I try to watch local sunrises whenever I can, but you can find a dozen sunrises just like it in New York and for the same amount of money. It looked nice, but was too short and bland. I give it about an evening before everyone is looking for a new sunrise.

How about shooting stars last night. I saw a huge comet at about 9:30 in the parking lot of Best Buy. Seriously, it was about half the size of a full moon as is flared out.

Yes, I noticed it, too. Gorgeous. One small benefit of our dark mornings at this time of year is the chance to see the sun rise.

Did anyone else happen to notice that amazing sunrise this morning? I noticed it as I was getting on the Turnpike extension near Liberty State Park: beams of orange sunshine piercing through purple clouds hanging low over the Manhattan skyline! D---, I wish I'd had my camera!
