New York Times/Weddings: Amanda Dubois & Timur Kocak - founder of the Actors Shakespeare Company in Jersey City.
New York Times October 7, 2007 Amanda Jane Dubois and Timur Han Kocak were married last evening in Manhattan. Judge Laura Safer Espinoza of State Supreme Court in the Bronx officiated at the India House Club. Ms. Dubois, 30, is keeping her name. She is a producer of ?Spring Awakening,? the Broadway musical and an associate producer of ?Awesome 80s Prom,? an Off Broadway play. In 2004, she was a producer of the Broadway revival of ? ?night, Mother.? She is on the board of Early Stages, a nonprofit organization that provides theater tickets and education to public school students in New York. She graduated cum laude from New York University. She is the daughter of Clarinda C. Northrop of Boston and Ernest P. Dubois of Santa Ana, Costa Rica. Her father, who is retired, was a professor of mathematics at the Universidad Nacional in Heredia, Costa Rica. Her mother, an anatomist, creates three-dimensional computerized images of the human ear as an educational tool for physicians. The bride is the stepdaughter of Paola Ocampo. Mr. Kocak, 42, is a founder of the Actors Shakespeare Company in Jersey City, where he appeared in two productions this year, ?As You Like It? and ?King John.? Last year, he played the lead role in ?Hamlet.? He graduated from the University of Michigan. He is the son of Mary Ann VanPoelvoorde of La Tour Blanche, France, and Kemal Kocak of Bodrum, Turkey. His father, who is retired, worked in Detroit as an electrical engineer for General Electric.
