Morgan Stanley office in Jersey City is site for casino protest

By The Associated Press

JERSEY CITY -- A New Jersey conservative and members of a major union are joining to protest tax breaks for a casino under construction in Atlantic City.

Former gubernatorial candidate Steve Lonegan and members of the casino workers' union UNITE-HERE are planning to gather today outside the office of Morgan Stanley.
The financial services company owns the site where the Revel casino is going up.

The protesters said Morgan Stanley already received money in the federal bailout. They said the financial giant should not also get a state tax break that could save it about $300 million during 20 years.

Revel officials said they, not Morgan Stanley, are in line for the state tax incentives.

The casino is scheduled to open next year.
