Tuesday, March 02, 2010 By MICHAELANGELO CONTE JOURNAL STAFF WRITER
A Jersey City father of two was stabbed to death at a house party in Queens early Sunday morning.
At 1:38 a.m., police responded to a call of a man being stabbed at a house at 88th Avenue and 239th Street in Bellerose and found James Lizon, 41, with multiple stab wounds to his chest, a spokesman for the New York Police Department said yesterday.
Lizon was rushed to Long Island Jewish Hospital, where he was dead on arrival, police said.
The investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made.
"A fight broke out," his wife, Maribelle Lizon, said through tears yesterday. "He must have been in the wrong place at the wrong time. I didn't know half his friends."
Maribelle Lizon said they had been married 20 years, and currently were separated. They have two children, a 9-year-old boy and a 12-year-old girl. James Lizon was very close to the kids, his wife said.
She said that her husband was unemployed, but had worked in elevator maintenance.
