UNION CITY- A lamb was left unattended in a wooden box Monday night on the sidewalk in front of 2408 Bergenline Ave., police said.
Police gave the animal water and took it to headquarters before animal control officials were notified, police said.
The animal was found shortly before midnight, according to Sgt. Ray Vasquez.
Police gave the lamb water and food at their headquarters until animal control officials took the animal about 24 hours later, Vasquez said. No one has called police claiming ownership of the lamb, Vasquez said.
