The Edgewater apartments had fire sprinklers that obviously couldn't stop the fire.
I don't understand the point of this law. Why not mandate the developers use more expensive and better construction? I guess that would interfere with the bribery going on, so we will settle for this nonsense instead.

The state Senate's budget committee today voted 9-1 to approve the "New Home Fire Safety Act," which would require fire suppression systems ? currently mandated in larger projects like hotels, apartment buildings and dormitories ? also be incorporated into the smaller homes.
