How about a Special Oversight Committee that isn't appointed by the PA, with real teeth to enact changes?

SPECIAL OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE SOLICITS PUBLIC COMMENT ON REFORM

Members of the public can provide comments and recommendations to the committee via email at reform@panynj.gov

The Special Oversight Committee of the Port Authority's Board of Commissioners announced that the public can provide comment and recommendations on reform of the agency via email at reform@panynj.gov. The committee will collect and review all comments and recommendations and address them at future public meetings of the committee.

The Special Oversight Committee will continue to hear from a wide-range of voices regarding governance, organizational structure and mission as it works to provide recommendations to the board and take action to respond to the transportation and economic needs of the region more effectively and efficiently.

Earlier this week, the Special Oversight Committee held a Port Authority Reform panel discussion with several long-time independent observers of the organization. The discussion focused on reform recommendations the Special Oversight Committee can make to the Board of Commissioners that will allow the agency to meet the long-term transportation, infrastructure and economic needs of the New York and New Jersey region moving forward.
