As I read it Ms Richardson is making $171K at present ALL from Hudson County Taxpayers.
Is anyone able to enlighten us on what a "program monitor at the Hudson County jail" entails?IE Time commitment, education and other required credentials?

The list of candidates who may run in November's special election to fill two vacancies on the Jersey City City Council has grown to 12, with Ward F Councilwoman Viola Richardson now one of the possible candidates.

The Hudson County Clerk's Office this morning confirmed that Richardson is one of the dozen city residents who have picked up petitions to get their names on November's ballot.

Richardson, if she ends up running, would be gunning for one of two at-large seats. They were vacated by Mariano Vega, who resigned in September 2010 before pleading guilty to corruption charges, and Willie Flood, who resigned from the council in February, blaming health concerns.

The two top vote-getters in November's election will fill the seats until the May 2013 municipal election. There will be no run-off.

Councilman-at-Large Ray Velazquez, appointed to fill Vega's seat until November, and Councilwoman-at-Large Kalimah Ahmad, appointed to fill Flood's seat, have announced their intentions to run in November. They have been endorsed by Mayor Jerramiah Healy.

Richardson could not be reached to comment.

If she runs and wins in November, the council would have to appoint someone to represent Ward F until a special election in November 2012 determines who sits in the seat until the May 2013 municipal election.

A city official last week said November's election will be a "free for all," since candidates only have to obtain 100 signatures, a fraction of what candidates in the city's municipal elections have to garner.

The list of current would-be candidates, which includes former council candidates Rolando Lavarro and Jaime Vazquez, is sure to get longer than the current 12. Petitions are not due to the Hudson County Clerk until September 13.
