Fulop was far from neutral in the JC BOE election. It isn't in his nature to not meddle - he can't help himself. His minions were working for the union ticket.

Nothing is sacred to him.

JERSEY CITY – Though he stayed out of last year's Jersey City school board race, Mayor Steve Fulop waded into yesterday's Newark school advisory board election, and came out on the winning side, according to PolitickerNJ.

Fulop, who helped Newark Mayor Ras Baraka win the mayoralty in 2014, provided about 70 campaign volunteers for the Baraka-aligned Children First Team, which swept to victory yesterday, PolitickerNJ is reporting.

Children First was the name of the slate that swept last year's Jersey City school board race. That team was backed by the powerful Jersey City teachers union and opposed by Parents for Progress, a reform-minded group that was formerly aligned with Fulop. Fulop remained publicly neutral in that race and was blamed for Parents for Progress' loss.
