Anyone who has anything invested in this city whether it's financial, your children's education or your own personal well-being and lifestyle can't alllow this to continue. Councilwoman Flood is a disgrace. All you have to do is vote in the next election. Please, please don't allow this kind of behavior to be rewarded with re-election.

From today's Jersey Journal "Political Insider" column:
-- Jersey City Councilwoman Willie Flood showed up at Wednesday's City Council meeting, after missing a half-dozen sessions. Her vote was needed by the administration because they wanted to keep low the number of years retired city workers must have been employed before becoming eligible for full city-paid health benefits. When it came time to vote, she went along with the administration members of the City Council and established a 20-year minimum for workers. Then the opposition council members called for a vote on another ordinance that required retirees to have worked 25 years before becoming eligible. Lo and behold, it passed by a 5-3 vote. Oops. Flood voted with the opposition. It seems that one of the administration's (gray-haired, Heights) council members forgot to tap her on the shoulder when it was her time to vote. She was absent from last night's City Council meeting and a vote that could have saved the City 3.2 million per year ended up in a 4-4 deadlock.
If she is incapable of serving she should be replaced. http://www.nj.com/hudson/index.ssf/20 ... y_mayor_says_council.html
