When it comes to public information, Jersey City is rated "best overall" by Rutgers' Center for Government Services.
Jersey City Mayor Jerramiah T.were presented with the "best overall" award in the 49th Annual Municipal Public Information Contest during the New Jersey State League of Municipalities annual luncheon at the Sheraton Hotel in Atlantic City.
"We are exceptional proud of our Communications Division for the hard work they do to keep our residents informed about public meetings, programs and events," Healy said in a statement. "As technology changes, they are continually developing new techniques to communicate with constituents including through our city website and Facebook page."
The contest aimed to promote the use of successful and innovative techniques, increasing the government's ability to meet residents' needs and improve access to services, according to the Center for Government Services' website.
"Great pride is taken in the work that we do and we are honored to receive this award," Morrill said in a statement. "Day in and day out, our team works to produce high quality print, broadcast and online/social media content for the residents of Jersey City and this ward acknowledges that effort."
