They're checking with Jennifer Morrill now. No doubt she'll issue a press release telling us the Mayor is onto it.... Sigh.

Can I get a "boil water advisory" from the city's twitter feed or is the Fulop administration still assessing the situation? Or, is it even aware?

I drove past that exact spot yesterday and there was a big dip in the road -- you wouldn't have wanted your wheel to go into it. It wasn't broken around the edges like a typical pothole, just rounded but deep. Had no idea who to call, and it was Saturday evening...

Water main break opens up sinkhole in Jersey City

JERSEY CITY - A sinkhole was created this evening by a water main break on Eighth Street between McWilliams Place and Jersey Avenue, adjacent to Hamilton Park.

United Water crews are on the scene. Water company officials have not commented.
