I sat on a Hudson county grand jury for the svu unit a few years ago. Jersey City actually didn't pop up at all except for PATH train incidents. It would be bad for the SVU unit to have an uptick in work in dealing with sexual assaults in Jersey City.

A possible sexual assault in Downtown Jersey City yesterday is being looked into by the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office's Special Victims Unit, officials said this morning. The incident occurred at about 3:15 p.m. inside a residence on Christopher Columbus Drive between Grove and Barrow streets, according to police radio transmissions. Transmissions also said police were reporting the suspect was still inside the location at the time. Hudson County Assistant Prosecutor Gene Rubino said the SVU was notified of the alleged sexual assault and "it is pending investigation." Rubino said no further details on the incident are available at this time. Link
