Marcus Brown, 23, was pronounced dead at approximately 12:25 a.m. this morning at the Jersey City Medical Center after officers found him face down and bleeding from a gunshot wound outside of 17 Grant Ave., according to Hudson County Assistant Prosecutor Gene Rubino. Brown was then taken ambulance to the hospital, Rubino said. The homicide investigation is being conducted by the Hudson County Prosecutor's Homicide Unit with assistance from the Jersey City Police Department. No arrests have been made as yet and a motive has not been identified, the assistant prosecutor said. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office Homicide Unit at (201) 915-1345 or by email at hcpotips@hcpo.org. All contacts will be kept confidential. Brown is the 11th murder in Jersey City this year. Earlier this month, two men were fatally shot inside a vehicle on Van Nostrand Avenue. Link
