View Larger Map Woman, 29, struck with hammer A 29-year-old woman was struck with a hammer during an attempted robbery Saturday night, according to Jersey City police reports. The victim told police she was walking north on Kennedy Boulevard toward Sip Avenue at 10:30 p.m. when a man came up from behind and hit her head several times with a hammer while trying to grab her purse, reports said. The woman said she screamed and three good Samaritans came to her aid as her attacker fled, reports said. Police reports did not specify the woman?s injuries.
