McDonald/The Jersey Journal A 60-year-old Jersey City man was carjacked by two men while stopped at Forrest Street and Martin Luther King Drive after dropping off a co-worker early Friday morning, police reports said. The victim told police he was at the intersection at around 2:30 a.m., and while stopped at a traffic light he saw three men, two on foot and one on a bike, approach his teal 1995 Plymouth Voyager, reports said. The two men on foot opened the doors of the minivan and pushed him out, according to reports. The carjackers got in the minivan and headed east on Forrest Street as the man on the bike left the scene, reports said. Police spotted the carjacked minivan, now unoccupied, four blocks away at Bergen and Lexington avenues about an hour later. Dennis M. Weaver, 19, of Grand Street in Jersey City, was soon spotted running east on Lexington toward the vehicle, according to reports. Weaver got in the minivan and headed east on Lexington, police said. The suspect made it about half a block before police stopped him, according to reports. He was arrested without incident and charged with carjacking, police said.
