Basking Ridge man reports being carjacked at Jersey City gas station

A Somerset County man was carjacked while parked in a Jersey City gas station Friday evening, police reports said.
The 41-year-old Basking Ridge man flagged down police at 8:04 p.m. Friday at the Shell gas station on Kennedy Boulevard near Route 139, reports said.
The shaken driver told police he just had filled his 2006 silver Toyota RAV4 with gas and was sitting in the vehicle when a man walked up to him, knocked on the window and demanded he get out of the car, reports said.
The suspect then opened the door, punched the victim in the stomach and yanked him out of the car, reports said.
The victim said the suspect then jumped into his SUV and sped away north on Kennedy Boulevard, reports said.
