A gunman shot a 17-year-old Jersey City boy in the foot at a block party Saturday evening, police reports said.
The Oak Street victim told police that he was at a block party at Bramhall and Bergen avenues at 11:20 p.m. when he heard firecrackers exploding, reports said.
The boy said he then felt a burning sensation in his right foot and ran home as fast as he could, reports said, adding the victim was treated at the Jersey City Medical Center for a non-life threatening injury.
There is no indication from police reports the boy saw who shot him.
A 62-year-old motorist said she was driving through the intersection when she saw a man firing a black handgun at random, reports said.
At the scene, police recovered two 9mm shell casings and found a parked car with its passenger-side window shot out and two bullet holes in the head rest of the passenger seat, reports said.
