View Larger Map Flooded basement at Paulus Hook Towers leads to water shut off Wednesday, May 11, 2011 Firefighters had to pump water out of the basement of a residential building in Jersey City yesterday morning, fire officials said. A contractor was working on a boiler at Paulus Hook Towers, a high-rise residential building located at 100 Montgomery St., when water "started spitting out all over the place," Fire Director Armando Roman said. As three feet of water flooded the basement, United Water shut off the building's water supply. Contractors have since "stabilized the situation" and water was restored as of noon yesterday, Roman said. SUMMER DAWN HORTILLOSA
