Two men discovered they were shot after several shots rang out Wednesday night in the area of Martin Luther King Drive and Myrtle Avenue in Jersey City, according to police.
At 9:58 p.m., responding police officers found a 19-year-old with gunshot wounds to his left calf and right ankle, reports said.
The victim told police he was walking north on King Drive with a friend and was crossing Myrtle Avenue when the pair heard about seven shots fired and began to run south on King Drive, reports said.
As they approached the intersection of Bostwick Avenue and King Drive - a block from Myrtle - the man realized he had been struck, reports said.
At 10:21 p.m., police found another 19-year-old gunshot victim with a wound to his left thigh, reports said.
The second victim said he was walking on Myrtle Avenue, just west of King Drive, with his cousin when they also heard seven shots, reports said.
At the intersection of Grant Avenue and King Drive, the victim realized that a bullet had gone through his thigh and he was carried to a home a couple of blocks away, where a woman called an ambulance, reports said.
Both men were taken to Jersey City Medical Center for treatment, reports said.
The victims told cops they didn't see who fired the shots.
Anyone with information about these shootings is asked to call the Jersey City Police Department tip line at (201) 547-JAIL.
