View Larger Map Jersey City police say several shots are fired at car stopped at traffic light with two men inside Thursday, October 14, 2010 Multiple shots were fired at a Hyundai Elantra with two men inside while the vehicle was stopped at a traffic light in Jersey City Tuesday night, according to police reports. At 7:25 p.m., police arrived near the intersection of Bergen Avenue and Atlantic Street and met with a 26-year-old South Orange man who said his car was damaged by one of several rounds fired, reports said. The man said he was stopped at the red light at Union Street and Bergen Avenue when he heard three gunshots, reports said. One round blew out the rear window and made a hole in the roof of the car, reports said. The victim said he didn't see the shooter, but a Pontiac Grand Prix sped from the scene, reports said. Neither the driver nor his passenger, a 30-year-old Irvington man, believe they were the targets of the shooting. No shell casings were found at the scene and police are still investigating, reports said. MARK MAURER
