Three Jersey City men shot by unknown assailants in three separate incidents.

Monday, August 16, 2010

Three Jersey City men suffered non-life threatening gunshot wounds in three incidents late Saturday evening, police reports said.

Police were called to Neptune Avenue near Kennedy Boulevard at 11:49 p.m and found a 19-year-old man with two apparent bullet wounds, one to the calf of each leg, police said.

While taking the victim to the Jersey City Medical Center, police were notified that two more victims had shown up at the hospital, reports said.

One of them, a 21-year-old Bostwick Avenue resident, who had a gunshot wound to his left shoulder blade, told police he was on the sidewalk about to go to a barbecue when he was shot and fell to the ground.

A 19-year-old Union Street resident, who had a gunshot wound in his lower back, also said he was attending a barbecue and was standing in the middle of the street when he heard several shots ring out. He said he began to run when he collapsed.

All the victims told police they did not see the shooter and did not know one another.
