Three Jersey City teens were robbed at gunpoint as they walked to the Booker T. Washington housing complex at 1:40 a.m. Monday, reports said.
Police were flagged down at Prior and Colden streets by the mother of the 14-year-old victim. The mother was accompanied by her son and an 16-year-old boy and an 18-year-old, who were also robbed, reports said.
The victims told police they were on Colden between Bates and Center streets when a man struck the 14-year-old in the back with a semiautomatic handgun and robbed them, reports said. They handed over $20 and three cell phones and an mp3 player valued at $750, reports said.
The robber is described as being in his late 20s, 5-foot-7 and wearing a blue shirt with white stripes, blue jeans, black sneakers and a blue hat, reports said, adding that he had a beard.
