Jersey City woman charged in stabbing of boyfriend, 70, in apartment they shared

A 70-year-old Jersey City man was stabbed late Tuesday afternoon by his 46-year-old girlfriend in an argument in their apartment, police said.

Pamela Brooks, who police say lived with the victim despite his having taken out a restraining order against her, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a number of weapons offenses and domestic violence.

Police say that the pair got into an argument at their Oxford Avenue home and Brooks grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed her boyfriend in the stomach. The man left the home and went to a store, where he noticed the wound was still bleeding, police said. He was treated at the Jersey City Medical Center for injuries not considered life-threatening, reports said.
