Jersey City police arrested one of three suspects Wednesday night who might be linked to a string of recent robberies, officials said.
Officers spotted a white 4-door 1987 Toyota Camry traveling south on Clerk Street at around 8:40 p.m. that was believed to be involved with several robberies, police said.
When police pulled over the stolen car on Randolph Avenue near Claremont Avenue, three men jumped out of the vehicle and started running in different directions, police said.
Officers ran down Corey Bellamy, 21, who had been sitting in the back seat of the car, where officers found a gun, reports said.
Bellamy was charged with receiving stolen property, resisting arrest, unlawful possession of weapons, and possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes.
The other suspects were not found.
