Cops: Man stabbed his wife 12 times

A 39-year-old Jersey City man was arrested after allegedly stabbing his wife at least 12 times during a domestic dispute late Saturday, police reports said.

Called to the home at 11:50 p.m., cops found the victim, who has two children with her husband, at the bottom of a common staircase in their Williams Avenue home lying in a pool of her own blood, reports said.

She was taken to Jersey City Medical Center where she was treated for between 12 and 14 stab wounds to the left leg, left arm, the left side of her back and stomach, police said.

The victim told police that her husband stabbed her multiple times after a verbal dispute turned violent. But she was unable to give further details because she was drifting in and out of consciousness.

The victim's two children were placed with family members, police said.

Police arrested Rush, who was found sleeping at an apartment on Martin Luther King Drive, police said.
