Emergency medical workers respond to a construction site at Sixth and Washington streets in Jersey City, where a worker fell from a scaffold.
A construction worker was in stable condition at Jersey City Medical Center last night after falling from scaffolding at a construction site in Jersey City's Newport community on Monday, according to a police report.
The 31-year-old Newark man was walking on the scaffolding at 465 Washington Blvd. just before 7:30 a.m. Monday when "a board broke," causing the fall, according to a witness.
Immediately after the fall, the victim had a cut to the back of his head and was complaining of back pain, the report said.
The victim told cops he only fell about 4 feet, but the witness estimated the drop to be 16 feet, the report said.
