Jersey City man stabbed at New Year's Eve party, police said

A 27-year-old man was stabbed in the back Thursday night during a New Year?s Eve celebration, police said.

The man told cops he was at a party in his West Side Avenue apartment when an acquaintance of his came up behind him and stabbed him three times in the upper back at about 10:45 p.m., police said.

The acquaintance fled and the victim was taken to Jersey City Medical Center, police said.

The victim had no theory as to why the acquaintance stabbed him other than that the suspect ?didn?t like him,? police said.
