Bayonne man shot in finger during robbery attempt in Jersey City

A 45-year-old Bayonne man was shot in the middle finger of his right hand during a holdup attempt in Jersey City last night, according to police reports.
Called to Kennedy Boulevard and Danforth Avenue at 10:51 p.m., police met the Avenue C resident who told them a man walked up to him, grabbed his wrist and demanded money, reports said.
When the victim said he didn't have any money, the robber pulled out a handgun and shot him once in the finger, reports said. The victim was taken to Jersey City Medical Center for treatment.
