View Larger Map Unarmed store owner fended off two men, one had a gun By The Jersey Journal September 28, 2009, 10:15AM According to a report in today's Jersey Journal, an unarmed Jersey City convenience store owner fended off two men who tried to rob his store at gunpoint Saturday night, police reports said. Called to the store at West Side and Grant avenue at 9 p.m., the victim told police two masked men entered his store and one pulled out a silver handgun and demanded money, reports said. The store owner said he lunged forward grabbing the gun with his right hand while using his left hand to fight off the other man, reports said. After a struggle the masked pair left empty handed and fled east on Grant Avenue, reports said.
