Cops: 2 men are busted inside King Dr. restaurant

Friday, July 31, 2009

Two Jersey City men were charged with burglary after cops and Froto the police dog found them inside the Burger King at 368 Martin Luther King Drive on Tuesday at around 3:40 a.m., police said.

Robert Lee Williams, 50, of Grant Avenue, and Jerome Jeff Holmes, 48, who police said is homeless, have been charged with burglary, theft by unlawful taking, criminal mischief and possession of burglar tools, reports said.

Responding to a report of men on the roof of the restaurant, police surrounded the building, reports said.

Several officers, along with Froto, entered the restaurant on the ground floor, reports said.

Froto chased and injured one the alleged robbers, who was taken to the Jersey City Medical Center, reports said.
