Nab 2 after chase on King Drive
Wednesday, March 18, 2009 Two Jersey City men were charged with multiple weapons and drug charges late Monday after a short chase on Martin Luther King Drive, according to Jersey City police. Called to Wegman Parkway and King Drive at about 10:20 p.m. to search for three armed-robbery suspects, police spotted five men, four of whom matched the description of the men, and saw one of them - later identified as Allen C. Robinson, 20, of Fulton Avenue - throw over a fence an object that turned out to be a fully loaded 9 mm handgun, reports said. All five started to run, but police caught up with Robinson and Ishear D. Bailey, 18, of Bidwell Avenue. A search of Bailey turned up a small blue backpack that contained a "large amount" of suspected marijuana, reports said. The recovered tossed gun had been reported stolen in Jersey City in 2007, reports said. AMY SARA CLARK
