Nab car burglary suspects on Charles St.

Four Jersey City teens were arrested Wednesday on charges they burglarized parked cars along Charles Street, reports said.

Police officers in an unmarked car were called to Charles Street and Milton Avenue at 12:27 a.m. on a report that suspicious-looking kids were checking out parked cars, reports said.

The officers observed the teens, ages 16 and 17, peering into windows, checking door handles, and decided to question them, reports said.

One of the youths had an owner's manual for a Chrysler, a flashlight, a GPS system and camera, but was unable to explain where he got them, reports said.

Police found a 2006 Chrysler with its interior light on and a 1999 Ford Exhibition with a damaged door lock, and confirmed with the owners that the items had been stolen from their cars, reports said.

Both cars were parked in driveways on Charles Street.
