Pair robs man of wallet, hat

A 35-year-old Jersey City man was robbed at gunpoint of his wallet as well as both a leather vest and hat Monday night, police reports said.

The Arlington Avenue resident told police he was at the corner of Jackson and Communipaw avenues at about 5:45 p.m. when two men, one with a handgun, approached him and demanded the items.

Five shots fired into front door

Responding to a call of shots fired, Jersey City police found five bullet holes in the front door of a house on Orient Avenue near Martin Luther King Drive on Monday at around 1:45 p.m., reports said.

Several people - including tenants at the building - told police they heard the shots but nobody saw the shooters.
