Hit by 2 bullets, but he's 'too drunk' to tell police much on drive-by attack
Saturday, September 13, 2008 By MICHAELANGELO CONTE JOURNAL STAFF WRITER
A Jersey City man was shot twice late Thursday night but was too intoxicated to give much information to police, officials said yesterday.
Police found the 33-year-old victim at his grandmother's apartment, at Montgomery Street and Chopin Court, at 11:36 p.m., after he was shot outside on the street, police said.
Asked if he was shot, the man pointed to a graze wound on his right side, but when asked if he had any other wounds, he was unable to answer because he was too intoxicated, reports said. The officers did determine that he had a second bullet wound to his left ankle, reports said.
The victim's girlfriend told police she saw a green, four-door vehicle with three men in it stop at Montgomery Street, where they opened fire from inside the vehicle, and then sped off as she made her way to her boyfriend, reports said.
Officers found a live .45 caliber round at the site of the shooting, as well nine spent shells, reports said, adding that the victim was taken to the Jersey City Medical Center by ambulance for treatment.
Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call the Jersey City tip line at (201) 547-JAIL.
