A Jersey City woman was arrested after starting a fire by lighting scraps of paper and discarding them on a Greenville street early yesterday morning, officials said.
At about 6 a.m., police using closed-circuit TV cameras spotted a woman lighting and tossing the scraps at Stegman Parkway and Ocean Avenue, Fire Director Armando Roman said.
Responding firefighters found a rubbish fire and doused the flames, Roman said, adding that arson investigators then arrested Turner. She was transported to the Jersey City Medical Center to be evaluated before being taken to jail, Roman said.
