A Jersey City Heights teenager was beaten with a golf club on the street early yesterday morning, but he refused to tell police what happened, officials said.
Officers responding to the home of the 18-year-old Webster Avenue resident at 12:04 a.m. found the back of his head and neck were swollen, and police called an ambulance, authorities said.
The boy was uncooperative with police, but his mother told officers he had been assaulted by a man with a golf club, who hit him in the back of the head, reports indicated.
The victim was taken to Christ Hospital for treatment of the non-life-threatening injury, police said.
